Fading out from black the audience first sees the logo for 'New Line Cinema' a well known producing company which suggest that the film has a huge budget and most likely to be  successful encouraging people to watch the movie if they have like a previous movie produced by  them. The next shot is of Brad Pitt portraying a character that audience does not know yet but his character looking bruised with plasters and also wearing a white collar saying, 'Do you like what are you are doing for a living?' suggest it is an integration going on making it obvious that he is a cop as the next shot is of Morgan Freeman is portraying his partner in crime using a torch to look for something, dressed in a detectives coat and hat displaying him as an officer, this shows that they investigating as from their faces they looked horrified. Throughout the trailer there is incidental sound to create an eerie atmosphere later on there is a digtic sound og three shot from a gun whilst a short montage of a window, jar and person's leg this indicates that this could be clues to slove the mystery making the audiencehow they link.
